KONUNDRUM modular transformative outerwear........

@konundrum_official is a MODULAR outerwear brand that comprises of a growing eco system of garment parts. To put simply the consumer can assemble their own versions based on their own style. Each part is detachable whilst interchangeable, the brand has a strategic alliance with "RESORTECS" (LVMH funded Belgian company that invented a heat dissolvable thread enabling easy repair and recycle).

The brand was founded in Frankfurt am Main as a platform for innovative clothing concepts by Jan-Philipp Kosfeld and Annika Langhammer.

During his fashion design studies at London’s Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, KONUNDRUM’s creative director Jan-Philipp Kosfeld developed an interest in the intersection of architecture, philosophy, and technology within the context of fashion. Kosfeld realised that the driving force behind fashion cycles and trends is the nature of Change, inherent to everything on this planet.

Yet, when it comes to how clothing is made and sold, the fact that our individual needs and aesthetics might change is rarely considered. This pivotal realisation motivated the couple to join forces and create KONUNDRUM. The brand name stands for a riddle or difficult question with no imminent answer, indicating the high complexity of solutions needed in the future.

After several years of development, the brand proposes a new category of apparel designed to better adapt to the multi-faceted aspects of modern life. Taking inspiration from modular architecture and software engineering, KONUNDRUM creates upgradable outerwear to cover the needs of today and tomorrow. Exploratory, adaptive, and open-ended.

Collectors will be able to select from a range of purpose-built outerwear editions or create their individual jackets and coats by selecting from an ever-growing range of parts. The parts to choose from include vests, collars, hoods, sleeves, extensions and insulations. By breaking down garments into parts, KONUNDRUM enables collectors to participate in the design process by co-creating clothing specifically tailored to their aesthetic and needs.

The modular nature of KONUNDRUM apparel creates the unique advantage of interchangeability between all parts allowing collectors to upgrade or adjust their apparel by exchanging certain parts. This can be done effortlessly at home and does not require any tools. Creating clothing in this innovative way, the couple provides collectors with apparel designed to become dear companions ready to accompany them throughout all phases of life.
